Both are aluminium accordion folding partitions, but they serve different purposes. DuraSound is a double-walled acoustic partition with an STC43 rating, designed to significantly reduce noise between spaces. DuraFlex is a lighter, single-walled partition for sight and privacy separation only. If sound control matters, choose DuraSound. If you just need a visual divider, DuraFlex is the more cost-effective option.
If you're running simultaneous meetings, dividing classrooms, or separating noisy areas from quiet ones, you need acoustic partitions, DuraSound. If you're creating a visual privacy barrier in a gym, childcare centre, or open-plan office where some sound bleed is acceptable, DuraFlex will do the job for less. Not sure? DuraSound suits openings up to 6 metres high with no practical width limit, motorisation is recommended above 4 metres. DuraFlex covers openings up to 3.4 metres high, also with no width restriction, and is manually operated. Both can be configured as single-parting, bi-parting, or multi-door arrangements to suit your space.
No. Both DuraSound and DuraFlex run from a top-mounted overhead track with no floor track required. This keeps the floor completely clear, eliminates trip hazards, simplifies cleaning, and means no cutting or trenching of your existing floor slab.
DuraSound and DuraFlex are built for a 30-year lifespan with minimal maintenance. The aluminium construction has no internal parts to fail, and individual panels, hinges, or rollers can be replaced in place if needed. All products include a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
